I was quoted in L.A. Weekly a few years ago, when talk of over-inflated payrolls, salaries & pensions were starting to be mentioned during the L.A. City Council meetings as saying, "Cops should be LAST to cut." (to paraphrase, cause I remember using the word, "dumb" in conjunction with the idea of cutting the number of cops in L.A., after City Hall just got done approving all the "Smart Growth" plans for all that added density that would be cramming into city limits. (The theory being, as population increases, the number of cops you need to enforce the growing population also grows.) BUT, first of all...PEOPLE ARE LEAVING L.A., not coming here. All those luxury condo-conversions are sitting there -- with more and more businesses leaving. So the added demand for cops diminishes as more and more businesses leave the city, taking residents along with them.
HOWEVER, MORE IMPORTANTLY in my assessment and re-evaluation of LAPD staffing -- IT HAS BECOME ABUNDANTLY CLEAR THAT L.A. CITY DOES NOT USE OUR POLICE FORCE EFFICIENTLY, AT ALL...AND HAVE PLENTY OF COPS AND VEHICLES AND RESOURCES TO WASTE ON DUMB STUFF LIKE PEOPLE AT VENICE BEACH NOT DISPLAYING A DUMB PAPER SIGN ABOUT "DONATIONS" THAT IS ILLEGAL TO ENFORCE, CURRENTLY, ANYWAY! (And for any money they may actually be able to collected on tickets from Venice artists -- they just MORE than lost on all the city attorney resources to be used on the NEXT FEDERAL LAWSUIT, currently being prepared by Dowd/Dogg on this "donation placard" enforcement matter. DOH!)
All the DUMB harassment and DUMB tickets that LAPD are apparently being told to keep writing by Carmen Trutanich's (joke of an inefficient) City Attorney's office says that there seems to be a SUPERFLUOUS number of cops on the street. (FYI: The City Attorney's office IS dumb...Matt Dowd and Zuma Dogg just beat his office in FEDERAL COURT, and we didn't use an attorney to kick their ass in Federal Court, for all their 800 attorneys.)
Well if they can spare ten cops and five SUV's to harass a guy with a bunch of incense on a table for WHATEVER PROBLEM LAPD COULD POSSIBLY HAVE WITH A GUY SELLING INCENSE ON A TABLE AT VENICE BEACH...THEN THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVE TOO MANY COPS IN THE DEPARTMENT.
AND, the city has demonstrated that they are mis-managing and mis-using LAPD resources for their own DUMB, stubborn, vindictive causes. In a conversation I had with Councilman Bill Rosendahl, today, he says that HE wants LAPD to be used for public safety issues like violence and crime. NOT THIS NUTTY BULLSHIT!!! (And he called LAPD's Pacific Division at 9am on Saturday to express that opinion to the Captain & Sergeant, after Zuma Dogg called Rosendahl at home to tell him what nutty bullshit was being enforced by LAPD.)
SO LAPD HAS LOST THE SUPPORT OF ZUMA DOGG AND YOU CAN LAUGH ALL YOU WANT, BUT LAPD SURE DID APPRECIATE IT WHEN I WAS SCREAMING ON TV 35 BEFORE THE CITY IN SUPPORT OF NOT CUTTING COPS. NOW THEY CAN WATCH AS I PRESENT THE ARGUMENT TO THE CITY AS TO WHY THERE ARE PLENTY OF LAPD DOLLARS TO BE CUT. AND IT'S THE FIRST PLACE TO BE CUT.
Because I'm sure most would agree...if it comes down to trash removal, pothole repairs and overall services -- I'M SURE NO ONE WILL NOTICE OR MISS -- A BUNCH OF NUTTY LAPD COPS RUNNING AROUND VENICE BEACH CHASING AROUND MATT DOWD, MICHAEL HUNT AND ZUMA DOGG.
HAVE FUN, CLOWNS...THERE WILL BE MUCH LESS OF YOU AROUND THIS TIME NEXT YEAR! AND I WILL BE HAVING SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAT! NERVOUSLY LAUGH IT OFF AND SHRUG IT OFF ALL YOU WANT...TAKE A LOOK AT HOW THINGS HAVE PANNED OUT FOR YOU WHEN ZD STEPS IN? WHAT YOU ARE LEFT WITH NOW?
ZUMA DOGG IS TIGHTENING THE SCREWS ON THE DEPARTMENT...AND THAT IS WHAT I AM DOING, BECAUSE YOU KEEP ASKING ME TO CONTINUE TIGHTENING -- AND I THINK I PROVED TO LAPD, TODAY, IN THE 9AM HOUR, THAT IS WHAT I AM DOING.
THIS ALSO MEANS I AM TIGHTENING THE SCREWS ON CARMEN TITANICH'S SHITTY ATTORNEY OFFICE...AND TOUGH SH*T FOR HIM, TOO. He doesn't deserve my respect, he doesn't get my respect -- and if he doesn't like it -- TOUGH SH*T...I DON'T HAVE TO BE NICE...I ALREADY KICKED HIS ASS IN FEDERAL COURT -- MARK BROWN HAS MIS-INTERPRETED THE LAW...THE CITY KEEPS MIS-STEPPING AND IT ALL KEEPS GETTING WORSE FOR TRUTANICH'S OFFICE..SO TOUGH SHIT FOR HIM...EAT MINE, PAL!
