L.A. Board of County Supervisors Election: Mark Ridley-Thomas versus Bernard Parks

from LA Daily Blog.com by Zuma Dogg
[Pictured: Oh no...not Parks?]

It's the moment Zuma Dogg has been waiting for since he first strolled into City Hall: The chance to do everything I can to make sure a Los Angeles City Councilmember loses re-election to get rid of the whole lot of 'em.

And many City Councilmembers are up for re-election next year.

However, ONE City Councilmember is running for ELECTION (Board of County Supervisors) -- and I looked forward to thwarting that effort, as well.

HOWEVER, in the upcoming Board of Supervisors run-off election coming up in November, one must consider BOTH candidates, and make sure they are choosing the better of two evils, and not just cut off their nose to spite their face. (More run-on cliches coming up, y'all!)

IN OTHER WORDS, AS MUCH AS LOS ANGELES COUNCILMEMBER BERNARD PARKS IS LESS THAN THE PERFECT CANDIDATE IN THE EYES OF MANY LOS ANGELES CONSTITUENTS...

HE'S RUNNING AGAINST MARK RIDLEY-THOMAS!!!

So Zuma Dogg is here to say, I can't worry about shady MTA campaign contributions. They're all shady...it's just a matter of what political side exposes the other in the media. THAT STUFF IS SMALL POTATOES COMPARED TO WHAT IS AT STAKE!!!

ZUMA DOGG SAYS YOU MUST PUSH HARD TO MAKE SURE BERNARD PARKS IS ELECTED OVER MARK RIDLEY-THOMAS!!!

I know all about how Parks is known as "Bitter Bernie" and is accused of still holding a grudge against Bratton for replacing him as LAPD Chief. I know he tried to ignore the Shaw Family during their Public Comment at City Hall. And I read today about Park's shady campaign contributions from MTA.

AND THAT IS WHY I FEEL COMPELLED TO JUMP OUT HERE ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND BLOG THIS POST:

I know, I know..."Oh no, not Parks!" (I'm the one who coined the phrase.) But unfortunately, only his name and Mark Ridley-Thomas' names are on the ballot.

SO WHY IS ZUMA DOGG GOING FULL THROTTLE TO BEG YOU TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE VOTES "PARKS FOR SUPERVISOR":

The other guy is Mark Ridley-Thomas...

GOOD NIGHT, EVERYBODY!

But seriously, I was out of town during the first election that ended in a run-off between the two.

NOW, I am back in Los Angeles for this leg of the race; and BOARD OF COUNTY SUPERVISOR IS A MUCH MORE IMPORTANT ELECTION TO PAY ATTENTION TO THAN CITY COUNCIL, IN MY OPINION!

So I assumed that Villaraigosa endorsed Councilmember Parks since he is a sitting Councilmember that Villar deals with on a day to day working basis.

That would mean Zuma Dogg would not be able to endorse Councilmember Parks.

BUT I WAS SURPRISED TO FIND OUT that Villaraigosa was NOT endorsing Parks and staying neutral. But the real inside scoop is that Villar ain't neutral and really wants Ridley Allen Ripple, I mean Mark Ridley-Thomas to win.

That triggered a flag for Zuma Dogg to investigate further and I have distilled what I consider to be the distinctions between the two candidates. (And thank goodness they are both of the same ethnicity!!!):

Ridley-Thomas is on the Nunez/Villaraigosa agenda when it comes to public safety and social spending.

Bernard Parks is a conservative fiscalist that is most needed in times like these, when all the other elected officials in town spend like spoiled brat, irresponsible children with no discipline.

Ridley-Thomas will help spend the County into third-world bankruptcy.

So Z.A.P. (Zuma's Action Plan) says you gotta forget about how sick Parks made you as an LA City Councilmember...Zuma Dogg says Mark Ridley (Allen Ripple) Thomas would have made you much more sick. (Do you think he would have been some pioneer/maverick to stop the other 14? Hell Naw, he'd be one more on the mayor's team, like AlarCON and Reyes.) SO YOU GOTTA FORGET THE SOAP OPERA AND VOTE FOR PARKS. (The fact that I am doing this, knowing how I feel about Councilmembers should be a statement in itself.)

In an exclusive interview for Zuma Dogg's LA Daily Blog.com, the Supervisor-Hopeful Bernard Parks ran past his list of TOP PRIORITIES for the county:

1) County Health Care System: Including re-opening MLK Hospital and creating an elected "health care position" to oversee the entire effort. (Better read "Deming's 14 Points.")

2) Public Safety: As in the lack of public safety. "Public safety, youth development and economic development" are the terms Parks actually used.

3) Education: The school system.

[He didn't promise to end global warming in two years, or end dependence on oil in any given time frame. He'll just be like that conservative elder family member who is pissing you off cause you cannot buy whatever you want, whenever you want.]

AND ZUMA DOGG KNOWS, from watching his dull, boring-ass in action during the Council meetings...HE'LL DO HIS BEST TO PREVENT THE OUT-OF-CONTROL, SOCIALIST-WACKOS FROM TAKING ALL THE FEDERAL, STATE AND COUNTY MONEY AND THROWING IT ALL UP IN THE AIR the way Mark "Bad for Business/Bad For Public Safety" Ridley-Thomas wants to.

It's the distinction between two un-undesirable "heavy baggage" candidates on opposite ends of the tug o war rope, and Zuma Dogg says you gotta pull on Bernard Parks' side!

YOU CAN'T JUST SAY, "I DON'T LIKE PARKS SO I'M NOT GOING TO VOTE FOR HIM, AND I'LL JUST STAY NEUTRAL!!!

IF YOU DO THAT, RIDLEY-THOMAS WILL WIN!!!

THIS IS A MATTER OF PUBLIC SAFETY!!!

More to come...I gotta go puke!
